Call For Submissions

FLASH RESEARCH DEMO SESSIONS

Up to may 10th 2024

(This is a new call for submissions, distinct from previous ones).

 

We invite research centers, technological centers, companies, and their researchers to submit innovative and ongoing projects for consideration at Design Commit 2024.

Taking place from May 20 to 22 at the Altice Forum Braga, Portugal, this event offers a unique opportunity for a session dedicated to Flash Research DEMO Sessions.

These sessions serve as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in projects. It is crucial for highlighting progress, especially in alignment with funding policies that emphasize the dissemination of research results.

Participation Fees

a. Each researcher may register with the Full Registration Fee for Students at €250.

b. Research centers that submit more than five projects will benefit from a reduced fee of €200 per researcher (in the category Full Registration Fee for General Public: €200).

c. All researchers are welcome, with the provision for virtual participation ensuring inclusivity.

d. All accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference’s Book of Abstracts and may later be extended to the other Calls of Design Commit

Abstract and Presentation Submissions

a. Submit abstracts (up to 200 words) and PowerPoint presentations via email to geral@designcommit.pt by May 10th.

b. Attached abstract template HERE. The PowerPoint template is available HERE.

c. No deadline extensions will be granted.

d. Name files as follows for efficient processing:

       Abstract: `Flash Research DEMO Abstract_author’s name.docx`

       Presentation: `Flash Research DEMO Presentation_author’s name.pptx`

e. Acknowledgments and Funding: Please provide acknowledgments for individuals, grants, funds, and other sources of support. Include the full names of funding organizations.

Conference Registration

Payments for in-person participation must be completed by May 10th; otherwise, the presentation will default to a virtual format.

 

Presentation Format and Criteria

a. Presentations are limited to 5 minutes and should not exceed 10 slides

b. In the case of video presentations, they must be in MP4 format, ideally 40 MB or less.

c. Use a webcam for enhanced interaction and audio clarity during recordings.

Awards and Recognition

Participants are eligible for the Best Presentation Award, highlighting the impact and innovation of their research.

Technical Guidance

Leverage Microsoft Office Support for assistance with PowerPoint and presentation recordings. 

For larger files over 80 MB, use the provided link to compress or reduce the size.
